For Tamaki Māori Village – COVID-19 Information

Tamaki Māori Village operating locations have opted into the COVID-19 Protection Framework:

Tamaki Māori Village, 1072 State Highway 5, South Rotorua

Tamaki Gathering Place, 1220 Hinemaru Street, Rotorua 3010

To access our locations, staff, customers, and visitors (aged 12 and over) will need to:

  • Present your New Zealand My Vaccine Pass
  • Wear a face mask.
  • Social distance at least 1 metre apart
  • Scan into our location and actively use your scanner at other locations

Other measures undertaken by Tamaki Māori Village:

  • Frequency of cleaning regimes across all staff and areas will be increased
  • Extra hand sanitising stations have been placed throughout the village
  • Tour numbers will be limited

Please do not visit Tamaki Māori Village if you have any of the following symptoms:

1. New or worsening cough
2. Fever or temperature
3. Shortness of breath
4. Sore Throat
5. Sneezing or runny nose
6. Loss of sense of smell or altered sense of taste

Or if, in the last 14 days, you have:

  • Had contact with a COVID-19 case
  • Been in attendance at a current location of interest
  • Left an MIQ facility
  • Travelled from an area with an evolving COVID-19 community outbreak
  • Travelled internationally
  • Had direct contact with a person who has travelled internationally
  • Worked or cleaned an international aircraft/airport or shipping vessel/maritime port.
  • Worked in cold storage receiving imported goods internationally

Please note:

  • The owner of Tamaki Māori Village is Tauhara North No.2 Trust
  • Tauhara North No2 Trust policies align to Mana Tangata and Kaitiakitanga under an indigenous Matauranga Māori framework. This means we look after people and we support our people.
  • Our people including staff are not responsible for setting these policies. They are responsible for implementing them.
  • Attacks on our staff for implementing this policy won’t be tolerated and you will be politely asked to leave the site.
